Sandwich Bread
Ingredients
1 Tbs - Active Dry Yeast
2 Cups - Warm Water (not too hot or it will kill yeast)
1/4 Cup - Honey
2 Tbs - Melted Butter
1 Tsp - Salt
6 Cups - Flour (bread or regular)
Directions
Add the yeast to a bowl, adding the warm water and honey. The honey should also be slightly warm so to easily mix altogether. Not too hot or it will kill the yeast.
Let the mixture bloom for 10-15 minutes. It should be fairly foamy when ready.
Add in the melted butter and salt and mix
Add in 4 1/2 Cups of the flour and mix well. Once it begins to become more solid, use your hand to mix or use a standing mixer for 10-15 minutes. It will be very sticky. Watch this video on how to knead dough. Use the last 1/2 Cup of flour to help mix the dough as you knead. Use more flour as needed over the kneading process, but no more than 1 Cup.
After 15-20 minutes, your dough should be less sticky and more solid. Round the dough into a ball, and place it in a clean, olive oil coated bowl. Place a towel or plastic wrap over it and keep in a room temperature or slightly warmer place. (Be careful placing this on top of a stove that is on, as it can get too warm and possibly begin the baking process). Let it rise for 1-1.5 hour.
Once the dough has risen, punch the dough so all of the air is taken out of it.
Place the dough on a hard surface and cut it in half. Gently spread each piece out into a rectangle shape, and then roll it up. Place each rolled piece into a butter coated baking dish. Cover again with a towel, and let it continue to rise for another hour.
Bake at 350º F for 30 minutes, placing them on racks so that the bottoms breath and do not stay humid. Wait 30+ minutes before placing bread in containers so that the container does not sweat
